I have been able to display a good understanding of learning different harmonies and
even creating some in songs that did not include any. I listened to Voulez Vous many
times before we officially started the term to ensure that I knew what I needed to do
vocally, this meant as soon as we began putting the song together the vocal parts were
ready.

I was able to independently teach myself how to scream for I’m so sick. This technique is
very difficult to master, this is something I have been working on in my own time since
last year. Using the technique more often in this term meant I could strengthen my
understanding of this technique as well as being able to do it healthily.

This term, I was able to show a strong sense of leadership. When given the job role of
being a manager, I took this very seriously and made sure that it was done properly. This
meant I was giving people tasks and deadlines in order to keep things running smooth and
making sure everybody had something important to contribute.
I was also able to show perseverance throughout this term. Despite having disputes with
band mates, I overcame this and decided that teamwork was the best way to ensure we
were able to complete the performance aspect of the project with as little difficulty as
possible.

Despite spending a lot of time figuring out stage presence ideas for each song, I still feel
as though I need to be more confident in myself when on stage. Some of the things we
did on stage felt awkward to me but I think with time and practise I can overcome this
and have a very strong and confident personality on stage.

I would like to work on more vocal techniques because I feel as though I did not use them
to my full advantage this term. This could mean talking to my vocal tutor about various
warm ups for different techniques in order to strengthen them and make them easier to
access within songs. This would help me make a song my own instead of imitating what is
done on the original recording.

This term, I feel as though I have not spent designated times to my coursework. Despite finishing a large chunk of it in sessions, I know that my work could be to a higher standard if I spent more time of it in my own time. I intend to write about each day as soon as possible in my project diary so that it can be to the best standard that I know is possible.

At points in this term, I let my emotions get the better of me instead of acting
professionally especially in practical sessions. This is something I plan to work on in the
future as it can affect the band as a whole as well as the rehearsal process. In future, i will
learn to act a lot more professionally in rehearsals because in a work place this is
something that is essential.

As a band, we were all able to communicate pretty well on stage. We did this by glances
as well as actions to indicate changes in songs, such as moving into a chorus or bridge.
This worked very well because some of our songs had unusual structures meaning it was
harder for the instrumentalists to remember. However, with these signals we were able
to successfully perform the songs to our best ability.

During our performances, we demonstrated some amazing stage presence. After ensuring
all of our song were done in rehearsal, we began looking at choreography for songs as
well as what we could do to make every single song entertaining to watch as well as listen
to. This gave the audience something to watch while hearing the music which ensure we
captured their attention all throughout the set.

As a band, we were all able to communicate pretty well in regards of decisions being
made with songs. This meant that our choice of song was not too difficult as we gave
multiple things a chance before officially starting work on the project. This meant we
were able to quickly get all of our songs together, leaving us time to look at stage
presence and other elements such as dynamics.

In our rehearsal sessions, we were mostly very time efficient. A couple of weeks before
the performances we times our set to ensure all timings between songs and coming
on/off stage was shortened. This meant we were able to smoothly go from song to song
without much waiting at all. This also showed excellent teamwork because everyone
made sure that we were all prepared as well as moving things along.

There were times as a band that we forgot to look at dynamics. This meant that until later in the term our entire set was quite flat dynamics wise. We had times where we looked at dynamics but there was not much we could do in certain songs; this also caused some conflict because certain band members had trouble adjusting to playing quieter in parts of songs.

We had some members who had an issue with others' ideas for stage presence because
they were not used to moving much on stage. This meant that in some rehearsals it made
the entire band look as though we were not working together. This also was not pleasing
to the eye because it gave the impression that those members were bored or were not
having fun on stage. This is very important on stage because it is our job to entertain.

Despite everyone having assigned job roles throughout the project, not a lot of people put
these into action until the performances. This meant that when it came to the actual
assessment for these job roles, a lot of people were under prepared because they had not
completed set tasks in time. This shows a lack of work ethic amongst the group as a
whole.

As a band, there were times we experienced conflict with each other. This sometimes
disrupted rehearsal sessions meaning we missed vital time that we could have used to
develop our songs further. This was due to disagreements amongst singers because it felt
as though there was an imbalance with the effort being put into learning our given songs.
This made it hard for us to show teamwork at times, this would not be acceptable in a
workplace because you would be expected to just move past it.
